So yet another top dude criticized our Iraq strategy.
What gets me about this, though, is that I knew that occupation was going to require a large amount of military and time. I just assumed that all those statements about how the Iraqi's were going to welcome us in with open arms and just couldn't wait to set up a new US-friendly government of their own were just propaganda. Is there a possibility that our top brass actually believed it? I'm not sure what's worse: blatant obviously untrue propaganda being issued by our government, or the idea that the top levels of military planning, the guys who have access to nuclear weapons and the largest military ever assembled on the planet, whose full-time job it is to plan this stuff, understand the situation less than a guy who sits on his couch surfing the web for an hour or two a day...
