I have, upon occasion, been accused of Hating America, due to my frequent criticism of the Bush administration.
It isn't true, of course. I love America.
And I miss it.

The place has history, culture, (even the dread multiculture!), jazz clubs, opera, and sushi, and just outside are snake-handlers, sibling-spouses, and Jesus billboards...
(OK, I admit I loved the trio of billboards out Highway 40: "Discount Tires", "CHEAP cigarrettes", "JESUS!")
But damn, do I miss the weather there. Here, it's a high of 77 degrees, partially cloudy. tomorrow, 77 degrees, scattered clouds, and after that, 77 degrees with occasional clouds. My god, I've worked in buildings with more weather than this!

I am reminded of a cartoon about Kerry, in a nutshell, it had two guys. The first said "Kerry was fooled into supporting the war." The second man said "I wasn't fooled & I want my president to be smarter than I."
