Yeah, Kay is by far my favorite fantasy author. Though I think he really comes into his own with his second book, Tigana, which many say is his best. He had just helped Christopher Tolkien compile the Silmarillion before writing Fionavar, and it really shows. Though for anyone interested in middle-eastern themes, The Lions of Al-Rassan is extraordinarily well-done, I think. I just got Lord of Emperors (finally!), sequel to Sailing to Sarantium, and it's in my large and growing stack of books to read...
