When I sally forth to seek my prey
I help myself in a royal way:
I sink a few more ships, it's true,
Than a well-bred monarch ought to do;
But many a king on a first-class throne,
If he wants to call his crown his own,
Must manage somehow to get through
More dirty work than ever I do,
For I am a Pirate King.
I am a Pirate King,
And it is, it is a Glorious thing
To be a Pirate King!"

My pirate name is:

Captain Sam Bonney

Even though there's no legal rank on a pirate ship, everyone recognizes you're the one in charge. You can be a little bit unpredictable, but a pirate's life is far from full of certainties, so that fits in pretty well. Arr!

Get your own pirate name from fidius.org.

The storm, I was going to write, about ten minutes ago, is dying down.
That's no longer true. It's back, bigger and better than before. Closer, I guess. My window is almost blinding to look out of - like there's a giant strobe light outside. The clouds are speeding across the sky - I can see them clearly every time it flashes, which is a few times per second. How does it keep it up?? You'd think eventually the atmospheric charge would equalize. Perhaps the wind and the constant movement of the clouds is keeping it charged.

Quote: "Two point twenty-one Gigawatts?? Two point twenty-one Gigawatts??!" Yeah, I can almost believe it.

And, speaking of Kipling, I've always liked this one, ever since I first heard Leslie Fish's musical adaptation of it: (Goes well with my Pat de La Mancha icon that [livejournal.com profile] reynard52 made for me)
A Pict Song )
Still stormy. I'm gonna go to bed now. It's late.
