When I first saw the article in the business section about the government divying up Iraq already, and only considering administration insider companies for the lucrative contracts (almost a billion of our tax dollars), I thought I had accidently wandered into the Onion, or some other satirical news source.
One of Cheney's former companies has already been awarded one of these contracts, and his other one is a front runner for another one, while the Bush white house is still doing everything they can to block the investigation into their past fraudulent practices.
Here's an easy way the Bush administration can raise support for the war, or at least silence those critics who claim they're only doing it for their own benefit: Stop blatantly benefiting yourselves and your campaign contributors by giving them our tax dollars!
Why doesn't Bush, Cheney, and friends just grab a few billion dollars and put it into their own accounts. It would be quicker and cleaner and cheaper than waging their little war first, and have the exact same effect only without all the dead people.
