Getting better
May. 5th, 2004 12:14 pmThank the gods for Nyquil! Picked some up yesterday and managed to pass through the night without being woken up every few minutes by racking cough or lack of breathing.
Interesting how dreams are informed by current events: when I couldn't breathe, I dreamt I was in an Iraqi prison with a hood over my face - when the carbon dioxide built up in the hood I couldn't get any more oxygen - at that point, I started to panic, and woke up. Damn Bush and his friends for giving me more nightmare material. Just what I needed.
Anyway, last night was much better - I managed to sleep through it all thanks to the miracle of modern medicine. Now if the sudafed works and I can breathe today, I'll probably be fine by tonight's meeting, and fully recovered by tomorrow.
I hate being sick.
