I'm liking Dean more and more.

If calling on the President of the United States to be responsible and answerable to the people of the United States is "too radical", then we need many many more radical people in office.

Howard Dean has a list of sixteen questions that he is calling on President Bush to answer. No rhetoric, barely even any spin, just sixteen questions that any honest man would have answered long before now.

My pre-order of the Firefly DVD first-season was cancelled at Amazon.com

Apparently, they got too many orders at the $37.88 they were charging for the whole season, so they cancelled them all and raised the price...

Oh, well, I didn't really want to buy it from them anyway. There're cheaper places to buy it. I'll probably wait until after it's been out a month and buy a used copy off of E-Bay.

Thank you [livejournal.com profile] rhonan for the heads up:

The Bush administration is threatening to pull the licenses of TV stations that air ads advocating investigation into Bush's lies about Iraq! This is so totally fucked up, I don't even know where to begin.

In a letter to station managers in Madison, Wisconsin, where the ad has run, Caroline Hunter, a Republican Party lawyer, wrote:
"It has come to our attention that your station will begin airing false and misleading advertisements. The Democratic National Committee has no right to willfully spread false information in a deliberate attempt to mislead the American people. As an FCC licensee you have a responsibility to avoid deliberate misrepresentations of the facts. Such obligations must be taken seriously. This letter puts you on notice that the information contained in the above-cited advertisement is false and misleading; therefore, you are obligated to refrain from airing this advertisement."

Quote from here

This is so, totally, completely, fucked up.

"Our liberty depends on the freedom of the press, and that cannot be limited without being lost." (Thomas Jefferson)
