Well, OK, it's raining now, but it was snowing earlier, which pretty incredibly awesome, driving through Eugene watching the snow falling down.
Unfortunately, it wasn't cold enough for it to stick, but it's supposed to get that cold tonight, so maybe we'll have ice tomorrow. Here's hoping...

Halloween was great! I'm mostly recovered. M, [livejournal.com profile] reynard52 and I helped some friends set up a haunted house at their house. Centered around an old shack that was there when they bought the place earlier this year, the plan gradually extended to end up with two cemeteries, a mad scientist lab, a haunted shack, a voodoo witch-doctor hut, and a maze. Oh, yeah, and the Chapel, which we made by adding a steeple to the shack and painting it to match.
After scaring all the neighborhood children (we had half a dozen actors at various parts in costume, and me running around behind the walls operating or being the crawling spider, spooky noises, monster hand, dancing skeleton, strobe lights, fog, and madman in cage. Spent a couple hours sprinting from one station to the next, switching masks, diving and rolling on the ground to reach props, activate them, and disappear before being seen by the trick-or-treaters. (I usually got out of the way in time :-)

After the haunted house shut down, we all headed out to Diablo's in Portland, where [livejournal.com profile] meisha and [livejournal.com profile] reynard52 won prizes for their costumes (they were tapped to enter, I tried to join the line of people entering themselves, but couldn't force my way to the front in time).

And then, last night, was the Day of the Dead celebration (and Haunted House wrap party).

Pictures, for those of you interested in that sort of thing, can be found on my web site here.
