Housesitting
Jan. 2nd, 2004 12:22 pmSurvived the transition into the new year. Our friend Brett came down from Portland so we went out drinking. Then came home and drank some more. The conversation flowed like wine, and the wine flowed like...um...more wine...
Anyway, it was low-key but enjoyable. While the alternative can be fun, I actually prefer a smallish group to a party of 200 people who I mostly don't know.
Yesterday,
reynard52 drove me over to the house of
laiadapila and
_heretic, where I'll be housesitting for the week while they're at Disneyland. Met all 5 cats (three of which are laying on or next to me as I write this). The whole place, as well as the road leading to it, was covered in snow and ice when we got here. Beautiful, but made it difficult to drive. But for the next few days I'm not going anywhere, other than walking down to the post office to pick up the mail...
I'm thoroughly enjoying the peace and quiet, though. Sitting here in my room with the cats, watching the rain through the window melting all the snow.
Of course, now I have to go work on GWoB's end-of-year taxes. Happy happy joy joy.
