Holy crap! Snow!

OK, just for a few minutes. And mixed with rain. But it was definitely snow.

In April.

Wow.

Lots of wind going on out there, too, and apparently some kind of major power outage in downtown Portland. According to the radio, all the traffic lights on Burnside are out so everyone's crashing into each other.

Tech support: True Story

So, I recently had the "pleasure" of talking to Microsoft Tech support.

It used to be when you call them up you'd get some untrained guy reading from a script which was supposed to diagnose and solve some of the simpler problems.

They don't do that anymore.

It's gone downhill a lot since the last time I called them.

But, at least it's amusing.

The short version: the last person I spoke to, after finally taking the error message and putting me on hold for the third time (I'm not sure what the first two were for - he never even began to do any troubleshooting), finally replied with "The problem is with your computer."

Thinking we were finally getting somewhere, I responded, "Great! What is it, and how do I fix it?"

His answer: "What do you mean?"
