Holy crap, I wrote a novel.
Feb. 15th, 2017 06:53 pmI mean, literally. I literally just finished writing a novel.
Well, the first draft.
The first draft is done.
It took me almost four years to get to this point. But, I've reached the end of the story.
Dunno what I'm going to do about the sentence of the day. I think I'll keep doing it during the rewrite.
So, what comes next? Well, anyone following along up til now knows I first write by hand in various notebooks. Then I type them into the computer. I've typed in the first 19 so far, and I finished the story about 3/4 of the way into book 24. So, for the next couple of weeks all I'll be doing is typing in the rest of the notebooks.
Once all the text is in scrivener, I'll start rearranging scenes, making sure all the different character arcs are well balanced and so forth, then begin re-writing, from the beginning. This will be draft two. That's the one that I'll be sending out to people who've volunteered to read it, a chapter at a time probably, and solicit feedback, suggestions, corrections from those of you who are experts in various fields that I represent, and use all that to write draft three, which will, I'm hoping, be the shortest of the re-writes. I really have no idea, having never done this before.
But, if you want to read the first draft and give me feedback, watch this space and I'll let you know when I'm ready and figure out how to do it. Thank you everybody who's been with me on this journey so far. I am quite excited.
Still need to come up with a title for it, too...
