I wonder if H.P. Lovecraft was aware of The Voynich Manuscript. It sounds like the sort of thing he would've liked. I'd never heard of it before today, when I came across it while surfing the internet...

The manuscript was discovered by an antiquarian in 1912. Later donated to Yale by H. P. Kraus (ooh! Notice the initials?!)

It has never been deciphered.

The Voynich manuscript is a real enigma. Nobody's made any headway in figuring it out, and a couple who've tried literally went nuts. If you look into the history of it, there's a possibility that John Dee and/or Edward Kelley may have had some involvement in its original procurement...

A real curiosity.
