Bush wins big at Canada's World Stupidity Awards., beating out contenders to take "Stupidest Man Alive", and the maker of the Stupidest Statement of the Year. He is also the nominal head of the Stupidest Government of the Year.

Several other categories were also taken by Americans, including Lynndie England for Stupidest Woman of the Year ("Hey, look, it's a war crime. I better make sure to get a picture of myself committing it!"), who beat Anna Nicole Smith, Martha Stewart, and Michael Jackson for the category (though there was some controversy over whether Jackson should be allowed nomination, the judges felt he had finally had enough surgery to qualify.

Speaking of Lynndie England, has anyone tried a Google image search for her name? Almost anything you type in will pull up at least some images - they just have to be on the same page as the topic mentioned, but "Lynndie England" will return no results. Which means Google for some reason purposefully blocked that search term.. I wonder why the chose to do that?

But Google image search doesn't go by the name of the image (though that is probably part of what they use), they go by the words in an article surrounding the image.
Many images have captions with her name in them, sometimes even in the alt-text. Even a search on "Pat Luther" will show a dozen or so results. I'm pretty sure I'm not being talked about online more than Lynndie England is...

I found 42,100 pages when I typed in "Lynndie England" and 44,400 when I typed it in without the quotes. The first listed on both lists is the "Lynndie England fanpage." Seriously. http://fourstrings.fanspace.com/photo2.html

Yeah, that site's pretty scary. At first I thought it was a joke. I especially like their challenge: if you think you can do a better job, why aren't you over there doing it? As if the systematic torture of hundreds of inmates at dozens of detention camps worldwide is simply doing a substandard job.

And, as for Google, yes, when you type in Lynndie England to google web search, it returns thousands of results. Same with News and Groups. However, if you select Images, nothing shows up at all. The only way there would be nothing there at all is if Google either deliberately or accidently disabled that search term. For it to be an accident seems highly unlikely.

I also noticed the same thing at yahoo search, but now if you search there it returns about a dozen listings, with a total of four different images. Hmmm.
