A few days ago, I mentioned that you cannot search for pictures of Lynndie England in Google. (Ms. England, if you'll remember, was the stupid whore who photographed herself abusing various inmates in Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq and defended herself by saying that she wasn't properly trained as a prison guard.)

Anyway, curious about why images which are undeniably all over the internet, and will show up in Google Web search, have been removed from the Google image search, I sent Google the following email:

While doing research for an essay, I noticed that the terms "Lynndie England" (with or without quotation marks) returns 0 results from google image search. Now, I've noticed that images are listed not only by image name but by the words in the next near them, and the same term returns many results n the main (web) search, as well as News and Groups search.

Is there an error, or have you deliberately chosen to block this search term for some reason?

I also noticed that the same term returned no results from yahoo image search last week, but returns hundreds of results now. Is there a conspiracy afoot? Or is there simply something wrong with Google which has been recently fixed on other search engines?

Today I got a reply back with the following lack of new information:

Hi Pat,

Thank you for your note. You can currently search more than 880 million
images on the web with Google's Image Search. However, there are many more
images on the internet that Google has not yet added. Google is working
continuously to crawl more images to increase the quality and quantity of
images in our index, so it's quite likely that we'll add the image you're
looking for in the near future.

For more information on searching images at Google, please visit

be found at http://groups.google.com in the

Thanks for your interest in Google.

Regards,
The Google Team

Curiouser and curiouser. I replied asking for some more specific information. I'll let you know what they say...
