Several hundred peaceful protestors arrested and tortured by DC police. How can anyone support this kind of thing?

OK, let's take a quick quiz, shall we?

1. Arresting people who have committed no crime is:
A. A bad idea.
B. Absolutely wrong.
C. Totally and completely fucked up.
D. A valuable tool to stop not only terrorists but those who would make common cause with them by weakening Americans' resolve through criticism of the governments actions.

2. Torture of prisoners is:
A. A bad idea.
B. OK if only done by "low-grade" methods like exposing them to minor injurious and disease-causing conditions, sleep deprivation, dehydration, etc.
C. Totally and completely fucked up.
D. A good tool for breaking the resolve of those who would weaken America by criticizing their government's actions.

If you answered anything but C, then you are a worthless human being and next time you are looking for the cause of America's problems, find a mirror.

If you answered "D", then you are one of the growing number of hard-core followers of Ashcroft, and are absolutely clueless about what's in your own long-term best interest, let alone that of the country. It is people like you who will destroy America by turning it into exactly the terrorist dictatorship that you pretend to abhor. You are a far greater threat to America than Osama bin Laden could ever dream of being.

Merchandising! I love merchandising!

And look, now you can get all sorts of Geeks Without Borders merchandise!

http://www.cafeshops.com/cp/store.aspx?s=gwob

Gotta love that URL, huh? Anyway, if anyone buys anything from there,
part of the money goes to Geeks Without Borders. (Though most of it goes to cafepress. If you wanna give money directly to Geeks Without Borders, then go to http://www.gwob.org/makeadonation.htm . You won't get a cool coffee mug that way, but you'll get one Karma Point for every dollar you spend. Collect enough Karma Points, and you can come back in your next life as an Aardvark.)

Ad for TV news: "A new tape from Osama bin Laden. See why the Bush administration says this proves a connection between Al-Qaeda and Iraq."

Well the reason is rather obvious, isn't it? Because Bush is desperate for a pretext to bomb Iraq!

How stupid do they think we are??!

This is nuts. I can't believe I'm watching this. OK, now they're playing the tape. Damn! This is Fox news. Fox news is saying that the tape says what it actually says: Osama bin Laden is urging Iraq to use suicide bombers, asking him to join him in their common cause against the US, and to please share any weapons you might have.
"It seems to indicate just the opposite. It seems unlikely that he would be calling for an alliance in a public tape if there already communication happening between them." Amazing. Fox News is pointing that out. I can only imagine what the stations that aren't run by the owners of the Republican Party are saying. I wonder if Bill O'Reilly is aware of this?

"We know what a disarmed country look like, and Iraq...uh...doesn't look like that."
-George W. Bush

"Apparently, you don't even need me here."
-Jon Stewart, responding to audience response to Bush

Now he's reporting that Rumsfield's family in Germany, who he last visited in 1982, have officially disowned him. "However, he is still in touch with other people he hasn't seen since the 80's", showing an old picture of him shaking hands with Saddam Hussein.
