A couple more things I saw...
Mar. 25th, 2003 08:31 amA hippie-looking guy - T-shirt, dreads, sandals - standing maybe 10' away from a large groups of cops, hunched over, writing something in a wireless PDA.
An elderly lady with a cane, trying to get to the BART station that was being blocked by protestors, obviously terrified. Being helped across a street, leaning on the arm of a policeman, with two protestors ahead of them, talking to people, and creating a corridor for her.
And, I talked too friend of mine last night who works in the Financial District. He had Thursday and Friday off, because they closed the building because of the protests. I'm happy that they are indeed having an effect. This war isn't going to only be felt in Iraq. At least San Franciscans, and their corporate masters, will notice it as something more than just another TV series.
