He's still around, and recently did an interview. (OK, so it was a couple of months ago. I'm slow sometimes).

Anyway, the interview is here. My favorite line is the one that begins the article:

'I'm not tempted to write a song about George W.Bush. I couldn't figure out what sort of song I would write. That's the problem: I don't want to satirise George Bush and his puppeteers, I want to vaporise them."

Of course, the first and most important step in creating a new democracy (which is what we're doing in Iraq, in case you didn't know that. If you didn't know that, you're paying too much attention to news agencies, and not enough to white house press briefs. Tune in cnn or Fox news to get the correct story.) Anyway, the first, and most important step, of course, is to eliminate all opposition parties. Merely outlawing the Baath party wasn't good enough (that's Saddam's political party, and he's evil remember.) You must also get rid of anyone saying that outlawing it is a bad idea. The newly appointed health minister "resigned" because he refused to denounce it. And now, in a bold new step in Iraqi Freedom, we now snatch people who speak out against the US occupation (oops, I meant, the US "liberation"). When asked what the difference between us staging midnight kidnappings to those who oppose us, and Saddam doing the exact same thing earlier, Gen Franks replied "He didn't use tanks." He continued, "also, we sometimes shoot the neighbors, too."
