So, yet another company has decided that people will
want to smell their email. They are marketing a new device that plugs into your computer and emits scents as directed by its software. It has 20 different base scents which can be combined to create "up to 60 different smells". From the UK's Telewest Broadband, the device will cost £250 plus £48 for replacement cartridges. (I assume that covers all 20 base aromas, and they're not £48 each).
Aside from the obvious problems, it worries me that the first use quoted in the article was for attaching scents to Spam email. Insert the obvious porn references here.
