Birthday Wishes?
Apr. 12th, 2006 06:04 pmSo I got a couple of different emails today wishing me a happy birthday.
Which confused me a bit, as my birthday was a month ago.
And, of course, they're all from corporate email addresses, not from people. So what gives? Is this the newest spam message? Apparently not. It's just that, whenever I sign up for something online, and want to use my real email instead of my spamtrap one, if it asks for a birthdate, I use the date April 12, 1961. Why that day? It is, of course, the date of Yuri Gagarin's manned spaceflight.
45 years ago today, the first man ever was launched into space by the Soviet Union. So, happy birthday to Manned Spaceflight and to my fake birthday.
