OK, the old owners of my apartment complex were bad enough, raising the rent by $40-$60 every time the lease expired, every 6-8 months.
But at least they were responsive to issues, and generally helpful.
Last week, I got a notice saying the complex had been purchased by new owners. This week, I got a notice that when my lease expires, at the end of this month, they're raising the rent by $205/month.
Six months after the last $55 increase. They now expect me to pay $1050 for a place that was $745 when I moved in. Nearly a 50% increase over three years.
And they're probably wondering why they have so many empty units...
Yep, time to find a new place.

Not my favorite of days
Apr. 11th, 2014 06:19 pmWell, at least I found out that the federal government owes me money this year, and not the othe way around, so that's kind if cool.
Less cool was waiting in line for forty minutes to check a bag, only to fin out it's too late and that the train thay I thought was leaving at 6:40 is actually leaving at 6:05, which was ten minutes from the time I noticed it, but, apparently, still too late to get on it.
The baggage guy was a little annoying, though. As in, he could have answered my question if I was I. The right place to check a bag, and really didn't have to walk away from the counter for just long enough for it to be too late to catch the train, once Ifound the right end of it. Jerk.
So now I'm waiting for the next bus to Eugene. Amtrak was nice enough to just switch the ticket over, though, without charging me anything extra.
So, you know, minor annoyances. No great tragedies today.
Oh, yeah, and I sprinted from the baggage counter to the train, wearing a back pack and carrying a heavy suitcase, without getting winded, so that was cool.
