Chapter Fifteen has been updated

The new draft of Chapter Fifteen, "The Best Laid Plans" is now up.
The new draft is 8,875 words, once again more than the previous draft, which was 8,808. I really thought I'd be eliminating a lot more at this point. Looks like the novel's still gonna be over 215,000 words when it's done after all.
Oh well, it's as long as it is I suppose. Decided not to break it into two. The problem with doing that is that the natural place to break it, at the end of chapter nine, is now only 65,000 page into it, which is too short for the first book in a trilogy.
Anyway, it's up now. Enjoy.

Chapter Sixteen is up!

Yay! This marks the half-way mark. There are 31 chapters total.

Oh, yeah, this chapter is 5,888, up a bit from the 5.627 of the previous draft. I'm still adding more than I'm removing. My gods, what's wrong with me?

Oh well, some stuff really needed to be called out in this chapter that was not mentioned in earlier drafts. Whatever. Hopefully it works now.

This chapter also sets up the next three, which are some of my favorites - two long scenes (each is broken across three chapters as they all happen at once) which leads to the end of part 2 in chapter 20.
