Chapter 29 is up

And there it is: Chapter Twenty-Nine "Alliances and Betrayals" is now up.
This was the last one that required major re-writes, and at 5,156 words is somewhat smaller than the previous draft at 5,964.
Two more chapters to go. I hope to finish them both by end of day tomorrow.

I've got some other research to do in the meantime, though, so may not get to both of them by them. Definitely by the end of Friday, though. After that, I'll be doing a quick pass to fix all the typos, grammar, and continuity errors that people have found in this latest draft (thank you again for doing that!!) and then, probably Monday, start the long process of searching for an agent.

I'll also, during that time, be working on the plot of my next novel! Woohoo!

Chapter 30

I have just finished uploading the penultimate chapter, Chapter Thirty: "Into The Holy Mountain".
This is one of the longest chapters, at 10,144 (a gain of 162 words from the previous draft. Mostly from just a few sentences I added here and there. I didn't cut too much out this time, either.)

It's also the most complex chapter, comprised of seven separate scenes (most chapters have around 3-4), all tightly connected with all four of my POV characters as they move about separately but intersect with one another.

One more chapter to got. Looks like I'll be able to finish by tomorrow. Still need to do some research for my job interview on Thursday, so hopefully that doesn't take all day.

Last Chapter is Up Again!

I've just finished uploading the last major draft of Yellow Tape and Coffee.
Chapter Thirty-One: Red Tape and Beer is now at the usual location.

Tomorrow, I start a quick pass to fix edit suggestions from my Beta readers (THANK YOU!!!!) and then... I guess then, is agent search. Probably start that this weekend.

Chapter 31 is 4,929 words, which is only about a hundred words longer than the previous draft.
Which brings the entire novel to a grand total of 212,169 words long. That's pretty long for a standalone novel. I thought about breaking it into two parts, but that would require more re-writing than I want to do. The natural place to break it would be at about 60,000 words, which is too short for a single book.

Anyway, it's up. I don't think I'm gonna do any more editing today.
