Jan. 31st, 2005 07:40 pmThe first amendment? Isn't that the one about not having any other gods before me?

reynard52, for this article. Yeah, yet another news piece about how uneducated our nations high school students are. It could have the headline: More than half of American high school students have no idea what the law is, and no concept of what freedom means other than a word used before killing people.
Some quotes:
It goes "Too far"? Yeah, well, King George thought so, too. (Now there's an irony of a name if I ever heard one!)
A lot of adults think so, too. Before they discovered they could restrict gay rights, republicans used to use a flag burning as a wedge issue to drive stupid people to the polls to vote for them.
President Clinton thought so, too, but fortunately the supreme court disagreed with him.

Three in four students said flag burning is illegal.

About half the students said the government can restrict any indecent material on the Internet.
President Clinton thought so, too, but fortunately the supreme court disagreed with him.
