That's right - the first episode ever of Star Trek, The Man Trap, aired on Thursday, September 8th, 1966.
And, though they've managed to royally screw up the franchise in recent years, it was once a bold new idea, bringing something new to television.
So, in memoriam, since I don't have much time, I'll just repost the list from topfive.com:
