So, we finally got the water turned on at the house.
Which immediately caused a massive waterfall through the access to the attic, into the kitchen, pooling up and spreading into the halls.
Our house has a definite tilt to the west :)
Turns out, whoever had done the winterization left the drain valve to the hot water heater open, so as the water began to flow into it, it also immediately began to flow back out of it. Onto the floor of the attic.
Well, we'd talked about installing a waterfall at some point. Though, really, we'd kinda intended to put it outside.
So, we figured out why it was pouring out, shut off the drain valve, and turned the water back on. Fifteen minutes later, it started pouring down again. Turns out, the pressure release valve had also been locked open. Heh.
So, the afternoon was spent mopping up water from the floors.
So now I'm cold and wet as well as still sick.
But now to move more stuff. If everything else goes well, I'll be moved in completely tonight. Yay!
