Mar. 23rd, 2011 03:48 pmWell, Symantec turned me down. No interview, they rejected my resume. Which is kind of weird, because I know they have not found a more experienced configuration management specialist in the Eugene/Springfield area.
From talking with people in the past who have worked with Symanctec, I'm guessing that they actually had a particular person already hired for the position before they posted it, but their rules require them to publicly post certain positions and pretend to go through a screening process.
Still a little disheartening after being led on for a few weeks.
But, within an hour of me finding out that they'd rejected my resume, I got three really good leads. Both look like things I'd like to be doing. One is for a brand new CM team, so the first thing I'd be doing is hiring the rest of the team. Another will involve a lot of travel to South America and India.
The downside is they are in Chicago, Oklahoma, and Iowa. Hmmm.....
