Yesterday's and today's sentences were chosen purely at random from, respectively, the first 7500 words of the novel, which I edited and formatted yesterday, and a 500 word synopsis I just wrote up.

These were for submission to this year's Writers Workshop at OryCon, where industry professionals (writers and editors) critique your novel. I have no idea how the workshop itself actually works, having never taken part in one before, but I'm super excited about it. :)

I believe that the guests of honor are the ones traditionally doing the critiquing. If so, I could not have asked for a better pair: Anne Bishop, who has written several "urban fantasy" novels, which is genre mine probably best fits into, and Jay Lake, whose excellent novel Green I only recently picked up, (I'm about halfway through it), touches on several of the same themes.
