Getting dressed for the End of Diablo's party. When the bar closes tonight, it will never reopen again.
However, there's a deeper tragedy: when getting dressed, the shirt I was going to wear was way too tight and I couldn't even button it. Alas! Immediately, I plunged into depression thinking how fat I'd become in just the last couple of years. Until I remembered that this was a shirt I purchased many years ago without trying it on, and it never actually fit. Fortunately, my stupidity amuses rather than depresses me.

So I grabbed another black shirt, which was also too tight. Noooooooo!!!!!!!
I could wear it, but I'd be forever adjusting it and feeling terrible about myself while doing so.

One last black shirt in the house, but it has french cuffs. All of my cufflinks, of course, are in Beaverton (or possibly in storage somewhere).

I began the frantic search of my house, in a style mostly emulated only by drug addicts who've convinced themselves that they've stored a baggie around here *somewhere*, they're just sure of it.

Then, it struck me. Fortunately, I had earlier this week, in Beaverton, run out of both quarters, needed for laundry up there, and things to wear. So I brought my laundry down here to do. I carried the laundry in a suitcase. The same suitcase which was in my room, mostly unpacked from OryCon.

Mostly.

Unpacked from OryCon. Where I took several costumes for the weekend. Including one which included a tuxedo shirt which had, you guessed it, French cuffs.

The outfit had been unpacked from the main compartment of the suitcase. The accessories, including, fortunately, the cufflinks, were not yet unpacked from the side pouches. Whew!

And this is how my lack of planning averted a major disaster caused by my lack of planning.

(Now there are some who think not being able to find cufflinks for a party is not exactly a *major* disaster. Well, to thee I say Fie!)

So, let that be a lesson to you boys and girls: If you're not going to carefully plan ahead, then, if you fail to do it consistently enough, you might just get lucky and it won't matter.

OK, almost ready to go.
