More Drama! Wheeeee!
Dec. 18th, 2013 08:12 pmSo, when last I updated, I had a court hearing scheduled. That happened. Running late, traffic delayed me even more, I was worried I was going to miss it. Got to the metal detector one minute before the time I was scheduled to be there. And, in line directly in front of me was... yep, it was Lainey. She barely made it in time as well. Bummer.
But it didn't go too badly. She told me she could be out by the 1st. Her other option would have been to demand a trial (I mean, her other option other than taking responsibility for her life and moving out and getting her own place and paying her own bills. But that, of course, isn't an option for her.) A trial would have been another two weeks delay to schedule, and probably wouldn't have ended with her moving out that day. So, we put the date in writing, and gave it to the judge. Yay, successful mediation!
So, she has until the first to get out. If she doesn't, the sheriff can come and get her and all her stuff. So either way, she's out of there. I am relieved. Though annoyed it will still be another two weeks. But at least at that time, it will definitely be all over, one way or another.
Anyway, I was in the neighborhood over there this morning, so stopped and checked my mail. There was an advertisement from an attorney (apparently, they do this when an eviction has been filed - if you're an attorney, you can get report of the notices and mail the tenants offering your help.) She got one last week, too, which I left on the counter as before.
I also picked up a few shirts, as I haven't had time to do laundry recently and was beginning to run out.
Anyway, she came out of her room and found her mail. She then told me that she wants me to leave her with the mail key. I told her no. (Of the two of us, only one has so far been willing to hide important documents from the other). She said then I therefore have to come by every day to get the mail to give it to her, because she's expecting important documents. Yeah, I'll come by when I have time. I owe her nothing, and have really expended enough effort on her behalf by this point. (Still not willing to just not give her any mail that gets sent to her, though. I'm not a total asshole.)
So today, I got another long series of drunken texts accusing me of withholdig her mail, telling me that her newest demands are that I meet her at the mail box every day so that she can see me take the mail out and know that I haven't kept anything important from her. Oh, yeah, and threatening to call the police on me if I didn't comply.
I thought about replying and telling her that she should really be using her energies to find a new place, rather than trying to cause me more trouble. But, I didn't. Just ignored the texts instead. Can't think of anything to be gained by answering. Ah, well. Two more weeks.
