plutherusWoke up around 7 this morning, with a major headache. Considering I just got over a migraine earlier this week, I didn't think this was fair, and said so. The universe, however, ignored my complaints as usual. After about two hours of lying in my bed moaning, with Widad commiserating, and Sybl annoyed that she kept having to move ever time I changed position, I finally got up. Mad it to the computer, started reading livejournal, but my eyes hurt too much, so I moved over to the couch. Not having the strength to move the cat off of it, I laid down on the floor for a while, head throbbing. The horizontal position helped, in fact several times the pain went away entirely, but it came flooding back as soon as I tried to sit up. Again, Widad came over (jumping down off the couch) and stretched out beside me for awhile. Eventually, though, she got up, walked up onto my chest and stared me in my face, as if to say "don't you think this has gone on long enough?" I tried to tell her I was in pain, and besides I got dizzy whenever I tried to stand up. "Well, then," I could hear her thinking as she stared at me, one paw on my chin, "don't just lie there like an invalid, do something about it." So I finally got up, stumbled into the bathroom and got out the migraine medicine, swallowed a couple of pills, and washed them down with a cup of coffee (and thanking all the gods that ever were for the invention of the automatic timer on coffee machines!). Went back to the computer, adjusted the brightness of the screen down so I could look at it, and wrote out the new GWoB status report. Over the course of two pages, 90 minutes, and three cups of coffee, my headache faded away completely. No pain at all anymore. Amazing. I can't tell you if it was just severe caffeine withdrawal, or if Excedrin Migraine is really that powerful, or if I'm just a big baby when it comes to pain. I rather suspect a combination of all three.
But, feeling much better, I sent out the status report (which was about a month overdue), did the dishes,showered, got dressed, cooked lunch, then wrote this. On top of all that, I discovered there's an episode I've never seen before on my Batman Beyond tapes. Could the day get any better?
