Geeks Without Borders update

1. Nerd Ball 1
Nerd Ball 1 went off incredibly well on Wednesday. Everyone had a lot of fun, and we sold all of the black T-shirts, and all but three of the white, that we had made in advance.
All in all, we raised a total of $279.00 for Geeks Without Borders!
I want to especially thank some of the many people who helped us out:
The bands, for donating their time and playing for us! In order of appearance, they were:
Brett Estep
The Darsan Trio
The Divided
Kevin Saturna
Troy, owner of the Downtown Lounge and Diablo's, for donating the space.
On sen Hot Springs, Eugene, for donating gift certificates for the Geek Auction
Sherman of J-Bar hair salon, also for donated gift certificates
Game Mania in the Valley River Center, Eugene, for games for our raffle
Henry, our absolutely wonderful M. C. and auctioneer
Kevin, for much all-around help and raffle donations!
EMisha, Administrative Assistant to GWoB, for her time and
And, although I don't usually mention the GWoB officers, Chantel, for all the work that went into making this happen, from organizing to T-shirt design!
And, last but certainly not least, everybody who showed up, danced, drank, ate, hung out, bought T-shirts, raffle tickets, and geeks, and helped make the event a success!
2. Office & Phone
Due to problems with wiring we do not yet, as previously expected, have an office phone yet. We expect to have it all sorted out by the end of this week, but in the meantime, if you need to reach us for any reason, you can call the mobile phone at 541-914-0618
The office is being built. It'll still be a couple of weeks before we're using it and have regular office hours, so if you're planning on dropping by, you might want to call first to make sure we're around, and not over at Home Depot or somewhere, which we're likely to be!
Currently, we're still all concentrating on getting things set up, but we're still seeking donations, and still accepting applications for donees. Next status report should have some more information on what projects we'll be setting up and when and how and where and everything. See you then!
And now, off to work on cleaning out the garage so we can build the office. Woohoo!
