Chapter Nine is up!

plutherusI have just uploaded Chapter Nine: Into the Fire, to the usual spot.
As always, if you don't have the URL and want it, drop me a line.
This chapter is now 6,296 words long, up slightly from the previous draft (Very slightly. The previous draft was 6,228 words).
This is the part which I'd thought about breaking between book 1 and book 2, but if I did that, book 1 would only be 58,152 words now, which is too short for a novel. So, I think I'll keep it as a single 215,000-ish word long book.
Also, I'd mentioned agent search before. Everything I'm finding so far recommends having the whole thing completely ready before even contacting an agent. Although usually they will only ask for the first chapter or three, if they like it they may ask to see the whole thing, and it's best if it's ready when they do. So, I'm going to go ahead and get to the end of the fourth draft before I start doing that. At the rate I'm going, that'll be near the end of next month.
