"...blunt Iraqi resistance..."
Jul. 22nd, 2003 04:46 pmSo, yesterday, we supposedly killed both of Saddam Hussein's sons. The first paragraph of the article, after mentioning a "blaze of gunfire and rockets", claims the U.S. believes that their assassination will "blunt Iraqi resistance to the American occupation."
How exactly is that supposed to work? Now that two more high-profile people have been killed, the Iraqis are suddenly going to feel safe in the hands of the U.S. military? Firing on protestors, and mass arrests of anyone suspected of knowing anything about attacks on US oil wasn't enough to make them like us, how about more political assassination, yeah, that'll do it. Now, they'll stop resisting our occupation of their country!
Is the U.S. military really stupid enough to believe that, or do they just think the American public is?
