plutherusSomeone on one of my elists asked what happened to the third parties in this year's election. I want to know what happened to the damn democrats!
Why weren't they out hammering away at the terrible economy, at Bush's warmongering, and slamming him for yet more tax cuts to the rich, lying to the American people about his evidence of Iraq's weapons programs, and refusing to release papers dealing with his and Cheney's involvement with Haliburton, Arthur Anderson, and Enron?
Why weren't they pushing any of their agenda? What the hell IS their agenda anymore? Don't they want to protect the environment? Keep science education in schools? Protect the rights of people who aren't straight white christians? Promote access to health care for poor people? Safeguard a woman's right to choose what to do with her body? Regulate corporate excess and abuse?
Aren't they in favor of any of these things anymore? If so, why the hell didn't they say anything about it during the last election?
It has recently been brought to my attention that every single Democrat in the senate, and all but 4 in the House just voted in favor of Bush's law reaffirming that this is "one nation under God". Oh, that's where they were, they all went and joined the Republican party.
