Scouring the Shire, Part 1
Nov. 3rd, 2018 11:52 pmNo, trump can't remove people's citizenship with an executive order. He can't suddenly make someone who was born here no longer a citizen. It's blatantly unconstitutional, and his handlers have only managed to get three people tops on the Supreme Court who care so little about the Constitution that they'll go along with it.
What he can do, though, is sign that executive order.
He can cause some people who've lived here since they were born to miss a few months of social security payments while they fight it.
He can cause some people to be deported, and lose their homes and their jobs and their livelihoods while their cases wend their ways through the courts.
He can cause some petty evil. He can rally bullies to his cause - because there are always goose stepping morons who will gladly turn against their neighbors if they're given a bit of petty power - and they can kill some people and hurt some others and do a bunch of property damage and make a lot of people's lives miserable for a short time.
For these reasons, it's still worth fighting him.
