More interviews
Aug. 6th, 2004 07:12 pmSo the second interview went much better. The interviewer was much more interactive, and seemed suitably excited about my qualifications for the position. This is good, as this is the job I want. It's a definite challenge, managing a team of SCM personnel in LA, rolling out policies company-wide, and migrating code from a variety of tools to ClearCase. Seemed happy when I asked about other tools in the suite besides ClearCase, as it showed I realize that version control is only one small part of configuration management (I find it amazing how many project managers are not really aware of this fact). They've already decided to standardize on the Rational suite, which is good. I hate the whole long evaluation and testing process that ends up costing more than purchasing any of the tools would cost and it always ends up with the answer of either Merant or Rational, anyway.
Anyway, they're doing the technical interview on Tuesday, followed by, I assume, an in-person interview in LA. So it'll still be a while before I know if I have the job or not...
