More on job hunting

plutherusSo, neither of the jobs I interviewed with last Friday have called me back yet.
On Monday, after about almost an hour of going through various setup screens, entering my entire resume in pieces, and waiting out the constant "server busy" replies from monster.com, I finally got to whereI could finally do a keyword search. "Software Configuration Manager" brought up 0 hits, but "ClearCase" brought up 650. I'm about half-way through them now, and have found about 20 different jobs I'm qualified for and interested in in the list, which I have applied for.
So far, two of those have called me: one is a Japanese shipping firm with offices in Tokyo, New York City, and San Francisco. I would be based in New York, and have to make occasional visits to San Francisco and Tokyo, so that's a big plus. Also, from a GWoB perspective, having an "in" with an international shipping company could be useful.
The other one that called me today was amazon.com, which is where half my money goes anyway. (I wonder if they have employee discounts?). This one would be based in the Seattle area, which would be cool for a variety of reasons: Only about 6 hour drive from Eugene, and I already know a bunch of people in the area. Plus, it would save money on travel to Norwescon every year :)
But, we'll see. I still have over 300 listings on monster to go through, before I try new searches with different keywords. Fun fun fun.
