Thanks to [livejournal.com profile] jaynefury for the link:

Is this going anywhere? Or just political grandstanding? Will some of the Senate republicans answer back? Or am I just being, yet again, a hopeless optimist getting my hopes up just to have them dashed down yet again?

Key questions that need to be answered include:

How did the Bush Administration assemble its case for war against Iraq? Who did Bush Administration officials listen to and who did they ignore? How did senior Administration officials manipulate or manufacture intelligence presented to the Congress and the American people? What was the role of the White House Iraq Group or WHIG, a group of senior White House officials tasked with marketing the war and taking down its critics? How did the Administration coordinate its efforts to attack individuals who dared to challenge the Administration's assertions? Why has the Administration failed to provide Congress with the documents that will shed light on their misconduct and misstatements?

Will they pull it together? Or is it already far too late?

That is actually quite good, though it is a shame people have to die before such questions are asked.

Since I know you read my post, I thought I'd let you know that link actually works for President Clinton's remarks.

Oh! Very cool - thanks!
I didn't see Clinton's original remarks (couldn't figure out where the link went :)

Good stuff:

"You can't say, 'Please don't be mean to me. Please let me win sometimes.' Give me a break here," Clinton said. "If you don't want to fight for the future and you can't figure out how to beat these people then find something else to do."

Hey, wait a minute - he's quoting my letters to him, from when he was in office! :)

This part's good, too:

Clinton also criticized political reporters and authors for failing to use reason and common sense in their writing and failing to dig deeply into stories. Instead, he said, reporters let officials get away with saying things that aren't true so stories include comment from both sides.

Still not sure if it's enough to forgive him for the DMCA, the so-called "defense" of marriage act, the communications Decency Act, the 1996 anti-terrorism act, or his almost bi-weekly bombing of Iraq and support of sanctions that caused the death of over a million people there during his tenure, though...

I agree. I think that democrats are so sick of the Bush administration that sometimes the very serious errors of the Clinton years get glossed over. I mean, no question that Clinton was a far lesser evil than Bush, but imo they're both punk asses.
