plutherusEntering Mexicali, The first thing one sees is block after block full of doctors. General practitioners, dentists, specialists of all types, and pharmacies. Hundreds and hundreds of them. How many Americans must cross the border every single day to support all this?
And it's not just here. Worldwide, "medical tourism" has been a growth industry for a while now.
How much stronger indictment can there be of the American healthcare system than the fact that there is a worldwide industry catering to Americans who aren't served by it?
I hear that a new bill passed while I was away that will start fixing some, though by no means all, of the problems. I haven't had a chance to look into it yet, so perhaps more next week.
