Watching Children of Dune on the SciFi channel. Things like this make me almost forgive them for not picking up the new Babylon 5 series. It's been too long since I read the books, so I can't say how close it is to the books, but I am enjoying it. It's done by the same people who did Dune last year. Which in some ways was better, and some ways worse, but very heavily influenced by David Lynch's version.
It's budget limitations show, especially in computer animation scenes, such as the guild ambassador, or the water that trapped the worm that was stolen from Arrakis. Overall, it seems somehow flatter, less engaging than the previous miniseries.

Some of the other upcoming shows look interesting:
Riverworld: I've not read the book series, but I know of several people who consider it to be one of the top classics of Science Fiction. And the scenery looks beatiful, though they didn't show much of the people in the commercials. Interesting. I think I'll check it out nonetheless.
Battlestar Galactica: I've heard rumours for the last two decades that they're bringing it back. I left the room during one of the commercials, and came back just in time to see the logo fading off the screen. Looks like they're really doing it. Wow. Weird.
Ummm.... there was another one, too, but I don't remember what it was, and the commercial break's over now. Time to get back to it :-)

Well, I did record it if you want to borrow it. I can burn it in .avi or VCD, whichever you prefer...
(I haven't seen the last two parts yet, just the first one...)
