plutherusAnyone interested in helping a group dedicated to ending slavery in our world? Yes, it's actually an ongoing problem, and Geeks Without Borders was recently contacted by a group fighting against it, looking to be put in contact with volunteers.

If you live in the U.S., it might also be worthwhile to write your representative and encourage them to support rep Chris Smith's Trafficking Victims Protection Reauthorization Act of 2003" (H.R. 2620), and the State Department to encourage them to take their "Trafficking in Persons" report (authorized by the act) seriously, to report accurately, and not to tailor the report to international political concerns, like they did with the last one (though you probably want to phrase it a little more diplomatically than that :-)
