But I'm apparently not cynical enough. I'm still sometimes surprised at stuff like this:

The family (who has, by the way, already contradicted the official government version of events) isn't giving them permission, but when did courtesy to the "hero" you're exploiting stand in the way of a fast buck?

It is now officially official. I am being laid off. My last day is June 9th, and I have to stay in the area until then.

I will be moving to Eugene, working full-time for Geeks Without Borders and living off of the severance package.

End of an era. Beginning of a new one. Oh, boy.

The future is going to be...interesting....

Will they be able to sell Syria as the next Big Evil That Must Be Stopped And Boy Doesn't Our Penis Feel Big?

I mean, most Americans have never even *heard* of Syria. Iraq had twelve years of demonization before we attacked again.

Will those 57% of Americans who believe the Saddam Hussein masterminded the World Trade Center attacks now switch to believing that it was really whoever the fuck the president or whatever of Syria is? I mean even I don't know the guy's name (it is a guy, right?) and I'm relatively well informed. How the hell is anyone in the midwest gonna know who to hate next month?
